To ensure continued provision of high quality Health Visiting and School Nursing (Public Health Nursing) services Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council (BMBC) has chosen to assume direct responsibility for delivering the 0-19 Healthy Child Programme. To achieve our ambition of becoming a national beacon for Public Health Nursing services we are currently undertaking an exciting transformation programme and are looking to attract highly motivated individuals to join our team at this exciting time. We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic and self- motivated individuals in order to lead the delivery of the healthy child programme to improve health and wellbeing and safeguard children, young people and families. You will take a child centred approach whilst undertaking clear and detailed assessments at both an individual and community level including health needs, early help and safeguarding.

Your role in our journey

What you’ll need


To join us, you will need to be a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse. We are looking for both school nurses and health visitors with experience of integrated working and public health related work. Your knowledge and understanding of the Healthy Child Programme and related policies and pathways will enable you to assess, plan and deliver care and evidenced based interventions to support clients and families within Barnsley.
