This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled social worker to further develop the breadth of their practice expertise in the dynamic and challenging environment of youth justice.
This will afford the chance to work for a high achieving service in a role that combines the management and oversight of complex cases, a position of relative seniority amongst peers and an expectation to provide leadership, most notably in guiding others in relation to their substantive service area of expertise - social work.
Key attributes include experience in building resourceful relationships with complex adolescents, their families/carers and the ability to lead a team of professionals in devising bespoke and focused multi-agency plans of intervention in order to improve the lives of the service users and meet the other core aims of reducing reoffending and protecting the public from harm.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in service improvement, responding to organisational challenges and in ensuring Barnsley Youth Justice maintains its inspection rating of outstanding. Therefore, practice innovation and the capacity to undertake supervisory tasks are key.
