Location: Queens Park Sports Centre or the Healthy Living Centre
Queen’s Park Sports Centre and The Healthy Living Centre (Staveley) have developed significantly over the past couple of years.
With an increase in the number of customers using the centres we need to ensure that we have the right team in place to deliver the programme across the centres.
We are looking to recruit seven part-time Sport and Leisure Attendants over both sites (predominantly Queen’s Park Sports Centre) covering various hours mainly in the evening and the weekend.
Applicants should have a valid Royal Lifesaving Society National Pool Lifeguard Qualification and be able to commit to undertake further ongoing training and competency assessment to enable them to successfully fulfil future requalification.
We will provide training so that you will become knowledgeable in the Council’s processes, policies and procedures, activity programmes, and all aspects of our Pool Safety Operating Procedures.
Your main role will be to supervise swimming activities, keep the centres clean and safe, and to ensure that equipment is set up prepared for our customer’s activities.
You will need to have exceptional customer service skills and be confident whilst staying calm in all circumstances. You should be able to demonstrate good initiative and identify areas for improvement whilst on duty.
The successful candidates will also possess excellent communication skills, including the ability to appropriately correct behaviour of pool users where necessary.
Vacancies are as follows:
The Healthy Living Centre x 2 (16 hours a week)
Queen’s Park Sports Centre x 3 (1 x12.5 hours, 1 x 13.5 hours, 1 x 14 hours)
Across both centres x 2 (20.5 hours a week – annualised hours contract)
Additional hours may be available to cover additional staff absence and changes on the activity programme.
