The Sport and Leisure team are recruiting for Swimming Instructors to deliver swimming tuition at Queens Park Sports Centre and the Healthy Living Centre.
Candidates should be qualified to ASA level 2 although level 1 is acceptable with a commitment to train to level 2 within an agreed timescale.
Hours of work will be as and when required to cover the swimming lesson programme.
We expect a flexible approach to meeting customer demand within the opening hours of the service where new opportunities are identified.
There is a requirement for on going CPD linked to the Swim England National Teaching Plan and framework.
It is expected that an innovative and high quality teaching service will be developed to meet a wide range of customers and specific needs from learn to swim to stroke technique and initiatives such as flip and fun schemes.
One to one lessons will also be developed.
All team members will be expected to provide support to the service covering colleague absences for training and holidays etc. Regular training in Emergency Action Plans will be required and attendance at planned teacher meetings will be expected.
You will be a highly motivated, flexible and resourceful individual who can maintain a customer-focused approach to all our Sport and Leisure activities.
You must hold a current National Pool Lifeguard award or Swim Teachers Rescue Award.
The post requires regular unsocial hours working including evenings and weekends involving services provided at all of the council's sports and leisure venues within the borough.
