Destination Chesterfield is a partnership which promotes the town of Chesterfield as a place to invest, do business, live and work.

This role is hosted and employed by East Midlands Chamber (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire) and part funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

Contract: Temporary to cover maternity leave (35 hours per week) – Minimum nine months cover
Based at: Chesterfield
Salary: £19,975 per year
Reports to: Destination Chesterfield Manager

WHY THE POST EXISTS

This post is in place to help the organisation reach its business plan objectives and will provide an outstanding opportunity for the right individual.

THE KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Day to day management of the chesterfield.co.uk website, social media activity and e-marketing campaigns. Proactively selecting and creating content to promote Chesterfield and Destination Chesterfield.
To manage the administration of the Chesterfield Champions Scheme including processing of new membership, renewal of memberships, event registration, promotional opportunities for champions and to be the first point of contact for enquiries from Chesterfield Champions.
To manage the organisation of the Destination Chesterfield breakfast meetings and other events, including sourcing of venues, promotion and operational delivery of the events programme.

Experience of delivering multi-channel marketing campaigns
Experience of organising, delivering and administering events
Experience of administrating a membership scheme or similar

1. MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To provide professional and comprehensive marketing, event delivery and administrative activity for Destination Chesterfield, in line with the implementation plan and company objectives.

2. POSITION IN ORGANISATION

• Reports to Destination Chesterfield Manager
• Supervision from Senior Destination Chesterfield Coordinator

3. DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• To work with the Destination Chesterfield Manager and Senior Destination Co-ordinator to deliver the Destination Chesterfield Implementation Plan
• Day to day management of the chesterfield.co.uk website, social media activity and e-marketing campaigns. Proactively selecting and creating content to promote Chesterfield and Destination Chesterfield
• To develop, deliver and lead on other promotional campaigns and events as required
• To manage the administration of the Chesterfield Champions Scheme including processing of new membership, renewal of memberships, event registration, promotional opportunities for champions and to be the first point of contact for enquiries from Chesterfield Champions
• To manage the organisation of the Destination Chesterfield breakfast meetings and other events, including sourcing of venues, promotion and operational delivery of the events programme
• To offer full administration support to Destination Chesterfield and the Destination Chesterfield Board including arrange meetings, book rooms, agenda distribution and minute taking
• To deliver the company’s invoicing to ensure that all invoices are processed and paid within the agreed timeframes
• To administer and delivery activity for the Invest in D2N2 ERDF project
• To represent Destination Chesterfield at events and meetings as required
• To carry out any other reasonable duties as directed

4. PERSON SPECIFICATION

Knowledge
• Knowledge of marketing, tourism or economic development
• Knowledge of consumer and business event organisation
• Knowledge of office administration including support up to board level
• Customer service skills in a business to business environment
• Knowledge of online and digital marketing
• Knowledge of working on an ERDF funded project
• Good knowledge of Chesterfield

Experience
• Experience of delivering multi-channel marketing campaigns
• Demonstrable experience in place marketing or similar
• Experience of managing a website
• Experience in planning, writing and delivery of E-marketing campaigns
• Experience of planning and delivering of social media activity for a business
• Experience in a customer facing environment, proactively meeting the needs of customers
• Experience of organising, delivering and administering events
• Experience of working with web, print and PR agencies
• Experience of offering administration support up to board level
• Experience of administrating a membership scheme or similar
• Experience in issuing invoices and ensuring payment is received
• Experience of public relations
• Experience in contracting marketing agencies and other third party suppliers
