Production Manager - Doncaster

Role: Production Manager

Location: Doncaster

Salary: up to £40K, DOE

An exciting opportunity has arisen within a forward thinking, highly successful generic and parallel import distribution company. The successful candidate will be joining a well-established Production department who are committed to maintaining high standards of GMP and continuous improvement. The site takes responsibility for the repackaging of imported products for the UK, Irish and Maltese markets. The role is part of a fast pace Production environment and will be responsible for three key areas within Production, this comprises of Warehouse, Print Room and Labelling departments. The head count within these three key areas is approximately 80.

Key responsibilities:

 Maintain GMP standards across the Production areas (Warehouse, Print Room, Labelling)
 Participate in MHRA GMP inspection as required.
 Ensure safe and efficient running of the Production departments.
 Ensure maximum output of each Production department and optimum Production efficiencies from all employees.
 Ensure health and safety standards are achieved and maintained
 Ensure the highest quality standards are achieved and maintained
 Ensure site security is achieved and maintained
 Drive continuous improvement across the department
 Ensure adequate training is provided across Production departments
 Ensure controls are maintained in line with Home office licences and assist during home office inspections
 Ensure adequate controls and processes are in place to handle cold chain products
 Maintain quality standards in line with Good manufacturing Practice and alert any patient safety issues or non-compliance to the QPs/Quality Assurance manager
 Work with other departments to achieve overall business objectives
 Chair monthly and daily Production meetings
 Ensure equipment in maintained/calibrated within all the departments.
 Raise appropriate documentation in line with the company’s quality system (deviations, change control, SOPs)
 Ensure each department is complaint with legislative changes

Additional requirements:

 Excellent managerial skills – must have strong man-management (overall responsibility of approx. 80 WH/labelling workers) including 8 supervisors
 Must be an experienced Production Manager – beneficial if from GMP environment (Good Manufacturing Process)
 Ability to think independently and problem solve
 Excellent IT skills (use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
 A hands-on approach is essential
