The role:

The Resourcing & Planning Manager is an integral member of the Service Delivery team, with direct responsibility for an operational team delivering a range of functional services to client facing teams to support high quality, efficient delivery of our clients services. The role is responsible for planning and delivering all defined Resourcing and Central Functions (RCF) operational activities to agreed service levels and within agreed costs, to enable the business to deliver its contractual obligations to its clients. The RCF team acts as an internal supplier to the client facing vertical teams across all sites.The role requires excellent organisation and planning skills working with multiple stakeholders both internally and externally. In addition, the role requires well developed people management and leadership skills to enable the RCF team to deliver the best possible services to its customers.

The Resourcing & Planning Manager is responsible for:

Centralised Resource Management for clinical delivery, ensuring the operational resource plan is maintained, communicated and updated on an ongoing basis
Active identification of clinical resource gaps and/or “Smart Resourcing” opportunities and obtaining business case approval for recruitment or engagement of third party suppliers
Operational management of all third party suppliers involved in direct service delivery, including clinical services, accommodation, facilities, consumables and equipment
Monitoring of workflow across all service operations, including proactive management of KPI and Service Credit risk, routing issues and ensuring all workflow ‘blockages’ are identified and corrected swiftly
Delivery of core operational functions designated as “central functions” for all client facing teams, including central resourcing and scheduling, subject access requests, medical records management, complaints tracking, medical helpdesk, equipment management, accommodation, facilities management, information security and out of hours services
Delivery of resilient “Out of Hours” services to all clients through effective management of all operational activity delivered outside core contracted hours, ensuring proper management control and governance is in place 24/7
Maintenance, testing and implementation of the Business Continuity Plan for all operations, including ensuring defined Incident Management procedures are communicated across the business and an Incident Management Plan is in place and able to be activated at all times 24/7
Effective budgetary control of all RCF team activity, ensuring all expenditure is properly authorised, tracked and invoiced
Carry out any other tasks commensurate with your level of responsibility as required by your line manager

The successful candidate:

Essential criteria:

Commercial experience in a similar resource planning role is essential
Well organised, with excellent planning and delivery skills
Well-developed interpersonal skills, able to engage with credibility and gravitas at all levels internally and externally
Intelligence and analytical skills, with ability to work with stakeholders to create solutions to meet client needs
Demonstrable influencing skills, able to adapt style as required to persuade and gain support of stakeholders
Able to see beyond presenting problems and identify root cause of client need / delivery issue
Excellent leadership skills, with successful track record of leading a diverse range of teams to achieve results
Results orientation with a track record of achieving personal goals and being able to support other individuals and teams in achieving their goals
Resilience and ability to deal with setbacks constructively and work to resolution of issues
Decision-maker with sound commercial judgement and ability to take controlled risks to achieve business success
Well developed negotiating skills, able to adapt style as required to persuade and gain support of stakeholders at all levels
Good facilitation and presentation skills
Ability to think logically and construct sound, persuasive arguments

Desirable criteria:

Graduate level education or equivalent
Resource management and supplier management experience
Experience of a similar role within the healthcare industry
