Role: Technical Sales Estimator


Salary: Up to £40K DOE

Location: Sheffield

Our client are specialists in Safety Engineering.

The role:

Our client is looking for a Technical Sales Estimator who can assist the Managing Director with bids/tenders, estimating and sales of projects and new business sales. You will be expected to bring on new business through business development and deal with technical enquiries from main contractors. You shall prepare quotes, liaise with clients and see the process from start to finish.

Key responsibilities:

To prepare and implement a concise and cohesive Sales and Marketing Plan in an effort to achieve and exceed the company’s short; medium and longer term sales and profit targets.
Responsibility for developing and producing accurate weekly, monthly and quarterly sales forecasts
Preparation of annual Sales and Profitability budgets
To develop, communicate and implement a clear strategy for growth
To visit Architects and other consultants to advise and assist with requirements for new projects. Keep a running log of all such visits.
To prepare tender sketch designs as necessary to assist with the preparation of quotations.
Send out enquiries as necessary to suppliers to assist with quotation preparation.
Visit main contractors by invitation to discuss and agree contracts.
To prepare quotations and submit in the due time period. In conjunction with Sales and Marketing Assistant log and track all quotations to conclusion
Attend post tender/pre contract meetings with main contractors to agree all details of future order.
Undertake site visits as and when required.
The successful candidate:

Will be ideally educated to degree level, all degrees will be considered but Engineering degrees are preferred.

Will ideally have experience of working within the construction industry
Will have worked for sub-contractors working with similar valued projects
Will have bid/tender writing experience
Experience of new business sales and account management
Experience of major building contracts
Commercially astute
Capable of closing deals with customers
Must be willing to travel nationally
