Reporting to the Finance Director and partnering with the senior leadership team this is a fantastic career opportunity to join a well-established, ambitious business at a time of significant expansion.
The role of Head of HR is to ensure that all internal stakeholders are fully supported by HR to the highest level, adding value to the organisation and to support the business to continually improve. Primarily based at the company HQ in Chesterfield, this is a multisite role and will involve regular travel throughout the UK, with some international travel to the subsidiary sites.
Key Objectives

• To develop clear, well-defined structures and roles for staff, which support the company’s values and strategy.
• To enable employees (c700 group wide) to achieve their full potential by providing a framework for opportunities and space for development driven both by organisational and individual needs.
• To ensure that all employees have the necessary skills and competencies to enable them to achieve the company’s and personal objectives.
• To ensure that the best available use of Web and digital technology is utilised for:
• Recruiting
• Training
• Development
• Reporting

• To develop leadership skills and behaviours, consistent with the values of the Company embracing accountability, authority, autonomy and enablement, flexibility and collaboration

• To establish a two-way communication policy, so that staff are able to exercise full commitment in their role, and understand how it contributes to the achievement of the mission and strategic objectives of the Company.

• To ensure that effective policies and processes are in place for recruitment, selection, development, retention and release of staff.

• To develop and implement fair and appropriate policies, procedures and rewards. With regard to pay and reward striking the right balance between basic pay, incentives, pensions and other benefits.

• To strive for equality of opportunity for everyone, whilst celebrating diversity and valuing experience.

• To ensure the Company has management and continuity succession plans in place.

• To liaise with Directors regarding the preparation of briefs for wage negotiations. To lead and/or advise on strategy during the negotiation process in order to achieve settlement on terms acceptable to the Company whilst maintaining effective on-going relationships with elected representatives and full time officials.

• To provide the necessary legal and technical support to the operating companies through the appointment of appropriate service providers (Peninsula).

Personal Specification/Required Experience
Experience of delivering effective change programmes in a fast moving and complex environment; experience with business mergers would be advantageous
Flexible, adaptable approach – ability to flex between HR facilitation and hands on delivery as needed
Extensive HR generalist experience of handling diverse HR issues
CIPD HR Qualified – Level 7 preferred
Line management of team across all HR disciplines
Up to date knowledge of UK & ideally international employment legislation
