If so Sue Ross Recruitment are currently working with an independent charity based in Sheffield City Centre and they are looking for an engaging and enthusiastic Systems Accountant to join their dynamic and forward thinking team on a fixed term contract until December 2018.

If so Sue Ross Recruitment are currently working with an independent charity based in Sheffield City Centre and they are looking for an engaging and enthusiastic Systems Accountant to join their dynamic and forward thinking team on a fixed term contract until December 2018.

You will play an important role in supporting the operation and development of the organisation through the provision of finance support as well as developing reporting practices to ensure managers receive timely and useful management reporting information.

Key duties will include:

• Providing comprehensive finance support across the whole organisation
• Closing purchase and sales ledgers, ensuring accurate reconciliations
• Raising monthly bacs payments
• Assisting with the production of monthly and year end accounts
• Producing accurate cost and forecasting models
• Aiding with the bidding process of future contracts
• Liaising with key stakeholders
• Performing accurate budget monitoring
• Working on projects and tasks with the aim to enhance the service of the finance team
• Building strong working relationships with a range of customers

This is a fantastic opportunity for a developing finance professional to enhance their systems and reporting skills. You will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role and have or be working towards an accounts based qualification ie AAT, CIMA etc. If you have experience of charity accounts this would be a distinct advantage, especially understanding the VAT side. You must be self-motivated and adept at working under pressure with the ability to demonstrate strong analytical skills. You must be able to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation and, as such, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as you will be expected to make recommendations on improvements. A good technical knowledge, along with experience of finance systems and analysis is essential. You must also be competent and confident with Excel.
