The main purpose of this role is to provide first line IT desktop, server, software and systems support. You will be working closely with the Group Systems Manager (GSM) to support ongoing projects and ensure the smooth running of the business. The job will also provide the opportunity to lead small projects of your own. You will be working closely with our third party IT support company. Appropriate training will be provided. Travel maybe required within the UK.

Key Duties
• Provide daily on demand first line technical support for users’ desktop hardware and software via email, remote desktop, IM, phone and in person
• Monitor systems and apply updates to ensure smooth running and security
• Proactively research solutions and make recommendations to the GSM
• Purchase and setup hardware and software as required, following established standardisation guidelines as set out by the GSM
• Administer user and computer configuration in Active Directory and Office 365
• Liaise with 3rd parties for projects and 2nd / 3rd line technical support
• Install and setup new hardware and software
• Cover some GSM duties when they’re unavailable, such as staff induction
• Assist with the production of policy documentation and user guides
• Support staff with general software and hardware usage
• Assist with the setup and configuration of video conferences and Town Hall events
• Travel to other UK sites to carry out duties, as required
• Provide limited support for SharePoint
Even though the business value the ability to learn, having the following some knowledge of the following would be an advantage:

• Ability to diagnose a range of IT hardware and software related faults
• Management of Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP and other core server services
• Administering of Office 365
• Supporting Windows and other Microsoft software on the desktop
• Configuration of firewalls, VLANs, WiFi and other infrastructure technologies
