Sue Ross Recruitment currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and professional HR Officer to join our client, a specialist group based in Alfreton.


This role will be based in the company’s Head Office in Alfreton and will involve providing advice and guidance across multiple UK sites in an ER/HR Generalist split role. You will be a key member of the busy and fast paced HR Department, reporting directly into the Head of HR. You will be managing Employee Relations issues whilst having generalist involvement in training and development, employee engagement, retention and recruitment.

Duties and responsibilities include;

• Managing ER cases, including disciplinaries, grievances, and performance across multiple sites
• Developing, delivering, and implementing HR policies and procedures
• Working alongside the Senior Management team, providing advice and coaching
• Delivering HR projects across the business, supporting the Head of HR with the businesses’ wider and more strategic goals
• Designing, delivering, and evaluating employee relations related training programmes to develop the skills and knowledge of line managers and directors
• Monitoring, analysing and reporting on sickness and absence
• Liaising with the Recruitment Officer to assist with recruitment procedures when required

The successful candidate will meet the following criteria;

• Proven demonstrable experience working within an HR Assistant/Advisor role
• An excellent understanding of employment law and disciplinary procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel packages
• Coordinating HR Project work
• Ideally CIPD Level 5 qualified or willing to undertake further training
• A valid UK driving licence

This role involves travel to various other sites across the UK and Ireland, estimated 2 times per month.
