Sue Ross Recruitment are really excited to be working on this entry level Marketing Assistant role. Our client, part of a large group of companies are looking to recruit a junior member for the Marketing department to support and be the link to the whole team. This is a fantastic entry level role which will give you exposure to all areas of marketing including event organisation, digital marketing, graphic design and PR/Social Media. Ultimately reporting to the Marketing Manager the opportunities to grow and develop are excellent.
Key duties will include:
Working within the Marketing Team, supporting the implementation of marketing plans and general marketing activities
Providing general marketing support and assistance to the Marketing Team to ensure the effective running of the department
Being involved in the organisation of Trade Shows, including organising trade show participation; booking required 3rd party services; controlling stock levels and suitable condition of exhibition materials; coordinating shipment of exhibition goods; on-site build of exhibition stands; booking exhibition samples in and out of stock locations etc.
Providing assistance, to ensure the team have appropriate access to required materials, for example maintaining stock and suitable storage of marketing support materials such as literature and demonstration items;
Contributing to the Digital Marketing team, including involvement in the website maintenance and construction; updating website content and downloads; monitoring traffic levels; SEO / keyword performance; constructing and monitoring online advertising campaigns
Assisting in the production of support materials, including providing assistance with brochures, labelling, POS materials, presentations, exhibition materials, animations and videos
Gathering and collating marketing information, design, proof reading, organising photography and some liaison with external suppliers e.g. printers
Undertaking research as per instruction, including researching new product opportunities and monitoring competitor activity etc.
Other responsibilities may include entering marketing contacts into the contacts database, raising purchase orders, maintaining correct filing systems for marketing documents; answer, screen and transfer telephone enquiries; handle requests for information and data; resolve basic administrative problems and enquiries; sort, open and distribute departmental post and undertake general clerical / support duties.
It is essential that you are computer literate and have a good knowledge of design packages including WordPress and or Magento. The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in marketing as a future career, ideally within the digital marketing. You must be enthusiastic, determined and have great communication skills together with the ability to wear a different hat depending on the needs of the business and team. Diplomacy and tact are essential due to the fact that you will be working for many different people who will all have their own deadlines. A creative flair is a must and photography skills could be useful in this role.
This is an entry level Marketing position and therefore would suit perhaps someone who has just completed their A Levels, Level 2 equivalent in a relevant subject or a BTEC in Marketing. Perhaps you have started you’re A Levels realising they aren’t for you and maybe you would like to start an Apprenticeship in Marketing?
