Sue Ross Recruitment are working with a successful, expanding specialist media company based in Chesterfield. They are looking for an outstanding individual to join their account management team. Externally, you will be responsible for developing long-term relationships with your portfolio of assigned customers. Internally, you will liaise between customers and cross-functional internal teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions.

Internally, you will liaise between customers and cross-functional internal teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions.



The Account Manager’s role is to sell as many the company’s goods or services as possible through maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers (via meetings, telephone calls and e-mails by understanding the client’s needs and reflecting those needs to the business) as well as to new clients.
Responsible for all communication to the client
Managing a portfolio of accounts
Maintaining and expanding relationships with existing clients
Attending client meetings
Visiting customers (sites) and representing the products and services professionally.
Setting up new clients and managing the new client rollout successfully.
Making accurate cost calculations, and providing customers with quotations.
Negotiating the terms of an agreement and closing sales.
Gathering market and customer information and providing feedback on future buying trends.
Representing your organisation at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations.
Negotiating variations in price, delivery and specifications with clients.
Advising on forthcoming product developments and discussing special promotions with your customers.
Completing Administrative duties as required.
Recording sales and order information to ensure validity of your sales.
Reviewing your own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets.


The Account Manager needs:
Good business sense
Understanding about their market and competitors' products
Good communications skills, both writing and verbally
To be self-motivated but able to work as part of a team
Good organisational and time-management skills
A positive attitude
Good negotiation skills and persuasiveness
Initiative and enterprise
Trustworthiness and discretion when handling confidential information
A smart appearance and professional manner


Requirements
• Proven account management or other relevant experience
• Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organisation
• Experience in executing client-focused projects
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail
• Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Some creative writing experience would be of benefit but not essential
• Experience selling products and services to the retail sector is highly advantageous but not essential.
